How do you and your team make good use of the extra downtime experienced because of the recent recession?
“The recent recession has caused a surprising twist in my spa. Many people are feeling stressed, and because of this, I ensure that I offer packages at a reasonably low rate with 20-25% discounts. We are kept busy with appointments, and we offer to go to houses so the clients get that special attention in the comfort of their own homes. We also allow them to pace the therapy by choosing the scents to be used and give them a free scalp massage to release tension. During the Christmas season, we offered many gift certificates to various organizations for their annual staff and customer appreciation parties, and we made proposals to company directors to go into their business places during their health fairs to offer massages and health talks. We have kept busy during the recent recession by taking an aggressive approach to keeping our clients and acquiring new ones. We are always busy, and when the spa has a very slow week, we go in to the elder care homes and offer free treatments to those who can't reach us.”
