Austin skin care provider Four Points Dermatology has launched a new info graphic called "Slather On That Sunscreen: What You Should Know About Skin Cancer," which exposes the three main types of skin cancer and reveals characteristics and statistics for each.

The graphic visually explains the symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment options for skin cancer. Illustrations reveal the types of skin cancer such as melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell cell carcinoma, as well as spotlighting treatment options such as excision, cryosurgery, electrosurgery, chemotherapy and immunotherapy. It also recommends daily sunscreen use and avoiding sun exposure between 10 AM and 4 PM as well as the importance of yearly dermatology visits for body checks and monthly self examinations.

Skin cancer incidence has increased 300% since 1994, and shows no sign of slowing down. The group said the infographic was created to educate and encourage people to seek treatment quickly if suspecting of a skin cancer growth.
